Golden Gate Bridge from Fort Point
A Civil War-era brick fort tucked directly beneath the south anchorage of the Golden Gate Bridge, where the span's arch sweeps overhead at its most dramatic angle. Waves crash on the seawall, the bridge's underside reveals its riveted steel, and the roof deck looks straight across the strait to the Marin Headlands. It is the classic upward view of the bridge, and the surf here draws local photographers in winter swells.

Lands End and Sutro Baths
A rugged coastal trail along the city's northwest corner, passing the concrete ruins of a Victorian-era bathhouse that once held seven saltwater pools. Cypress-framed viewpoints look across the mouth of the bay to the Golden Gate Bridge, and at low tide the ruins fill with reflecting pools. The Mile Rock Beach spur and the hidden labyrinth add lower vantage points.
