16th Avenue Tiled Steps
A 163-step public stairway in the Inner Sunset covered in a mosaic that flows from sea to sky, built by neighbors and two local artists over three years. The full design only reads from the bottom of the stairs, where the tiles form a swirl of fish, shells, and stars climbing to a sun at the top. From the summit at Grandview Park the view opens over the Sunset to the ocean.
